49th Annual Four Chaplains Memorial Foundation Awards Dinner

Judge Advocate Howard Schaeffer and I had the honor of attending the 49th Annual Four Chaplains Memorial Foundation Awards Dinner. The Four Chaplains Memorial Foundation’s vision is to impart the principles of selfless service to humanity without regard to race, creed, ethnicity, or religious beliefs. (For more information click here)The dinner was fantastic and it is always fun to get together with other veterans and share our stories. You never know who you are going to run into. Judge Advocate Schaeffer and I had the honor of meeting former Army Private Alex Horanzy. Mr. Horanzy is the last remaining Pearl Harbor Survivor in the Philadelphia Area. He was a joy to be around and he even shared a Japanese flag and pilot's bandana that he recovered from a plane that was shot down during the attack. He had the items framed including some photos documenting the find. It was truly an honor to get to spend time with him and see his collection.
