Memorial Day Weekend 2018
As is to be expected Lehigh Valley Detachment 296 was very busy this past Memorial Day Weekend. There were numerous events that our members participated in. There was the annual tradition of the Emmaus Veterans Committee Honor Guard preforming their remembrance ceremony, including a firing line, at all of the local Emmaus cemeteries. The Emmaus Remembrance Garden holding their ceremony of installing new bricks, with the names of fallen Veterans. We also participated in the Memorial Day Parade and also performed an Honor Guard during the ceremony that was held after. We also provided a Color Guard at Coca Cola Park, home of the Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs, during the opening National Anthem for their Military Appreciation Day. This year the weather was beautiful and all the events went off fantastically. - Commandant Jason M Smith
